The Mariner fishing charter is for both experienced and first time fishermen. Our crew will provide you with all the fishing gear, instruction, and personal help you will need. Remember, relax and leave the traffic and telephones behind. In addition to top notch fishing tackle, we also provide hot coffee and raingear if needed.
Fish cleaning is available at our docks. "Fish On" is the call heard around our vessels as excited anglers hook and battle fish. Not only is fishing great sport and fun for all ages, but the fish you catch are yours to keep, take pictures of, and best of all, eat. All the fish you catch are fresh from the Pacific and are excellent eating. We have a whole variety of trips for your fishing fun. Our most popular trips are our 5 hour fishing and our 5 hour fishing with crabbing.
Fishing Report
August 28, 2010
The Salmon seem to be moving north about a mile a day… Hoping another band of fish will come up from the South so we get one last shot before the closure. Boy are they nice big fish!
Tuna boats were out yesterday and the catch was good. Crabbing has remained steady – good catches averaging 4 to 5 per person which is well worth the extra $10.00.
I don’t know yet if the deep water season will open on October 1st as usual. I sure hope so; I’ve got a lot of Deep Water Ling Cod trips scheduled the first week in October. I’ve even put off hunting for them!
Summer Steelhead counts remain good at Bonneville, but catches and effort will drop as the focus switches to Salmon. Fishing for Summer Steelhead has been fair on the North Santiam and most of the Springer’s are dark. Sea run cut throat should be available in most tidewater stretches of North Coast Rivers. Diamond Lake is fishing well with bait anglers scoring better than trollers. Steelhead catches are improving on the Lower Deschutes and Trout fishing has been good. Jigs have been taking limits of good sized Kokanee at Paulina. At Lake Billy Chinook you can find rainbow Trout averaging 10-16 inches and Brown Trout can be found up to 26 inches long. East Lake is still producing nice size Kokanee along with Trout and Atlantic salmon. Lost Lake has been stocked with loads of Rainbow Trout and has some resident Brown Trout. It’s a great place for trolling in a small boat or bank fishing. There seems to be an Algae problem at Haystack Reservoir, fishing is not prohibited, but I’d go somewhere else….

Give me a call soon to make reservations on the Mariner.
